The German waitress comes and asks if my dad has come to visit, I look and wonder if there are any similarities but Bill is much too young and I wonder what kind of a question it is.
"A friend from the States, I answer in German."
"Ah, welcome to Germany, she says in English."
"Thanks, I'm just passing through."
"You should visit ....."
"I'll have..."

And then it starts. We'll drink our coffee. Anything could happen. Almost. His daughter is there so he has to be careful not to call me a provoking punk asshole bastard. He knows I know that anyhow. We would have to come to the point. That's why his daughter has to be with him. That may be the most important factor in the story. I hope she is a normal kid. Ha ha.
Anyhow, we'd talk about the best way to rule the world, he'd explain to me it doesn't really matter what I say but he will attempt to remember that in his new world he will at least think to leave a place for assholes like me to criticize the system. I will have to tell the people that if a system is strong enough to take criticism it is a system with hope for the people in it.
Even if no one believes any of it.
But this conversation didn't happen.
