barbaralba's first book report since college:

GENERATION OF VIPERS

Philip Wylie

To start my first official book report since college, I'll make a few points clear about Nietzsche before delving into Generation of Vipers by Philip Wylie.

My first exposure to Nietzsche was as a teenager. My cousin read to me some of his poetry. She was delighted with its brilliance, clarity and elegance. She read it in German. At the time I didn't understand the language. I took a strong interest in my mother tongue in college. I had forgotten to learn to read. I borrowed the Portable Nietzsche from a friend. Though it was an English translation, his brilliance was obvious.

Since then I've read many others, none were more brilliant or elegant.

Few are half as right.

Even fewer want to believe his challenge on us. To become what we can be, rather than being content with mediocre stupidity. Nietzsche was not a friend of Hitler. If Hitler read Nietzsche, he did not understand him.

So for the record, Philip Wylie, who comes closer to Nietzsche than most, do not give Hitler the credit to understand brilliance. The over man is of no particular race. Nietzsche had nothing to report against the Jews. The over man or over woman is someone who can think as well as trust their instinct for comprehension. Survival. The church and state would have us ignore 2 billion years of evolution and stop to fit in their definition of what it is that is.

We don't know enough for that. We know only a little about now.

We can't begin to understand what our species will be when it takes the evolutionary step of accepting responsibility for its actions. We are capable of protecting the planet. We are following the evolution of our language.

If the reader doesn't believe this.

Go back and read a few books that make our language what it is and us what we are.

After that, read Generation of Vampires.

What I am about to tell you a little about. But before we get under way. How I got the book.

After a very long time with no contact, I contacted an old friend. She read some of what's here at antikult and sent me Wylie's book with a letter mentioning that she thought of him when she read me.

What turns out to be a compliment because he's a bloody smart fellow.

He starts with a quote from Jesus Christ. The guy some bastards made a mind slave religion out of.

Pricks.

All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but blasphemy against the spirit shall not be forgiven - whoever speaketh against the eternal truth in the spirit of men, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come - Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt; and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit.

O generation of vipers- !

First thing to understand, though most would disagree, is Nietzsche might have said that.

In fact, many writers say almost always that.

Because the planet is being run into the ground for about 14,000 years.

By the evil sons of bitches who enjoy the business of raping and pillaging. The mighty holy merchants. Their priests and sometimes a few puppet politicos.

Wylie's attack is on the myopic, self righteous, running possessed over the cliff, Americans - 1941.

Quote from Chapter one page 5: They assume what almost every Briton and American assumes: that civilized man has reached he edge of dawn - that goodness and virtue and nobility are almost ready for universal realization - that we are a Christian and scientific people who need only...

Maybe I'll just explain it.

Americans are a bunch of dumb asses. Ignorant beyond comprehension.

Before we get carried away, let's jump back to what Jesus Christ said.

As if it mattered.

What it does.

Jesus Christ, what he meant is clearer when the observer remembers that Jesus Christ believed in himself. Not the Jewish God. His god was the spirit, the 2 billion years of instinct and evolution that appear to be making us into - the over man - angels - gods.

We like instant everything.

Becoming, something already with 13.7 billion years behind us, still not finished. It's a blow to the ego. What's in me becoming what it can be is bordering on outrageous.

No wonder people prefer the 6,000 year lie.

Better to believe we are it and give into mute obedience to a vegetable law.

Let's get right to Chapter 2. Subjective Feudalism.

This might be my favorite chapter. The history books of the future reporting on America, shortly after they massacred millions of natives. Stole their land and converted the few survivors to Christianity and the worship of money and television.

A dreadful gathering of idiot hooligans and murdering thieves.

Waving their flag and riding off forever on a stream of wars and invasions.

Coke and McDonalds in every community on the planet.

The take over of man's deadliest killer, the automobile. 40,000 violent deaths, a million injuries per year in the USA. One percent of the population. And the people worship work and slave for these vile death machines.

What we still do 65 years later. All around the world. Demanding more poison to burn to heat up the planet, waste finite resources that perhaps future generations may want a share of.

Oh what folly the homo-sapien sapiens have fallen upon. Ignorant of the dangers of their ignorance.

Killing for fun.

Chapter lll - quote: And of course, all the work was for nothing, anyhow; what earthly use are the pyramids... end quote.

This is a very good point. What a brutal lie to make nations slaves to build a few piles of rock.

Disgusting behavior.

Those were evil fucking pricks. Prancing around claiming to be gods. A military dictatorship. Like it always is since the days of metal weapons.
